Re: Ohms

Gore was kinda weird and trashy sounding, but not in a good way. It was still good, though. Ohms is as good as if not better than Diamond Eyes. I don't really know how they keep pulling it off. It always takes me a few listens before Deftones' new music "clicks" with me but this one took n...

Re: So what are you doing now, with all this extra time?"

I grabbed a sampler and a small keyboard controller and a Waldorf Streichfett and I am having the time of my life over here not staring at a cat damn computer screen every time I want to make music. It's wonderful, even if it rarely turns out anything usable. But it seems like music is going to be j...

Re: I hate being right redux

I'm voting. I still feel like we're fucked. It has been one hell of a wake up call of a year for this country. But it is hard to know if everyone feels like that, or will do anything about it. I'm currently extremely worried about the way the media is handling current events, possibly leading us to ...

Re: Spotify Fake Artists

People will go to youtube. Especially if google kills off torrent sites (I'll be starting a thread on that shortly). I might be missing something but the user experience seems about the same whether you use Spotify's free tier or youtube. My guess is that some people would start paying for Spotify ...

Re: Well, it's gone....

Everything that made the Womb special started in a real-life studio somewhere. That's where the experience came from. Without that, we'd all be postulating about what our records might sound like if we ever got off the internet and made them. My fear is that recording has become so internet-centric ...

Re: Spotify Fake Artists

Maybe I'm wrong, but I recall reading that Spotify would be just fine financially if they required subscriptions for every member. Considering the value of the service as a listener, this seems like a no-brainer. Are they afraid everyone will just revert back to piracy if they require a subscription...

Re: Get er done !

There are 3 kinds. Sucks, Works and Excels. This is a huge pearl of wisdom, at least for me personally. For the longest while I treated the gear curve as a doubly asymptotic "S" curve. Ya have to spend a certain amount not to suck and then for a while money equals some kind of linear prog...

Re: Sgt Pepper 50th anniversary remixes

I feel the same way. They're different, but not that different, and it doesn't really change the songs or their impact in any meaningful way. If they released the multitracks, everyone would learn really quick that you can't screw up a good performance with a lame mix. Besides, didn't they intention...
