The mix sounds good and genre-appropriate to me. I have to bass-check with AKG K240s because my monitor system is anemic in the low end and I have no subs.

The timing on the vocal could use a little tightening up -- many syllables seem to arrive late -- but maybe that was due to research John was conducting for the song

Cool song -- reminds me a bit of Stuart Hamblen's "This Old House"
