Ohms

Post by meloco_go »

I'm Deftones fan since the 90s. The previous couple of albums were honestly a bit shallow. I was excited to hear they work again with Terry Data, and now the new record is released and WHOA
Was not expecting this :yowza:
I feel it's up there with the White Pony
Seriously

Seriously? I guess I'll have to check it out...

Last album I bought was Koi No Yokan. Got to meet them all at the grand opening of a Zia Records in Phoenix, or at least shake their hands and say hi. Chino liked my shirt! Hahaha

That album definitely grew on me after a few listens, but I don't really have any desire to revisit it now. Goon Squad is a fun song I keep in rotation.

I heard a few singles from Gore and haven't bothered to listen yet. I'm kinda worried they might be losing it, but they've kept it up this long.

Gore was kinda weird and trashy sounding, but not in a good way. It was still good, though.

Ohms is as good as if not better than Diamond Eyes. I don't really know how they keep pulling it off. It always takes me a few listens before Deftones' new music "clicks" with me but this one took no time at all. Interesting sonic choices, too.

Do check it out.
It's really feels to me like an old times. Little lines and phrases from different songs keep stuck in my head.

You weren't kidding. This one clicked right away for me as well. I better stop listening before I wear it out, albums like this don't come out too often from anybody.

Still listening. You know it's good when you slowly move through the songs, having a new favourite every few weeks.
