The gist of it is that Google is going to introduce a new ad blocker into its Chrome browser and, apparently people who use torrent sites statistically use Chrome.
While I have no love for torrent sites, I'm not dancing in the street about this because legitimate sites that can't get enough people to pay for subscriptions (I think that's most or all of them) will be hurt or go out of business entirely.
It's not just about me/ us.
I guess Google isn't making enough money from ads on piracy sites and wants Youtube to go from being the world's main source of piracy to being the only one. And I'll go out on a limb and guess that Google isn't planning to block its own ads.
What's the point of being the world's biggest monopoly if you're not going to act like it?
