Two Hundred

Post by Tim Halligan »

I fell over this track I did in 2010.

"Two Hundred"

Lyrics: Phil Grocott
Music: Tim Halligan

There's a lot I would change if I was going to do it again, but it's pretty representative of what I was doing around that time.

Enjoy.

Cheers,
Tim

I like this a lot, Tim :yep:

Is this in reference to something specific? "Two hundred daily dead"?

Very cool, Tim!
Is that you on guitar?

What Gronk said.

Also, I I grew up an album nerd, fascinated with liner notes (remember those?)

I'd like to know the others involved, if at all possible. I know I wouldn't be familiar with them. Color me curious.

I'm guessing you didn't do the drums, vocals, and keyboards with a guitar pedal, but if you did, I would like to know how you did it :mm:

Thanks.

I don't think there was a specific incident that the 200 daily dead refers to.

So yeah...the drums - BFD2 - and keys were programmed by me, but the keys were hardware as opposed to soft-synths.

The guitars and bass were real, as was the vocal. No autotune, because I didn't have it.

This was a demo that never went anywhere, so all the playing - real or MIDI - was me.

Recorded and mixed in Cubase SX3 through a MOTU 896HD.

Cheers,
Tim

I like the production.

Liner notes were more impressive in the 20th century though.

Nice song! And I like the production, especially the presence and punch of the guitars. I feel like I'd like to hear more vocals, especially when you're really pushing the instruments from around 2:30.
