The Charlatans were a somewhat well known band in the early San Francisco psychedelic days. Members included Dan Hicks (of Hot Licks fame) and Mike Wilhelm, of The Flamin' Groovies. They are generally credited as being the first SF psychedelic band and inventors of the psychedelic rock poster.
