I just discovered something, maybe it's just me, but wanted to see if there's other weirdos like me out there. I was listening to a song on headphones, and was trying to identify the individual instruments and how they were placed in the mix. Drums were panned hard L&R (
) and it sounded like there were two hihats both right (correct) and left (incorrect) 
. It was then that I discovered that by turning my eyes left, I could hear clearly that the sound on the left was a tambourine, and the sound on the right, the hihat. Not only that, by using my eyes left and right (I also did this eyes closed, it doesn't make a difference), I discovered that I could hear details that I wasn't able to hear with my eyes straight forward. I've been doing this job 20 odd years now, and I've never noticed this before.And, no, I'm not high...
